As we've mentioned before, lists exist for a single day on our platform. This means that after a day of canvassing, you'll typically want to revisit your lists to ensure you're not leaving any doors behind.ย
There's two ways to get another pass on your unknocked doors, in addition to those that were marked by the canvasser as Not Home or Come Back Later. You can either move the lists to another day, or you can release doors to the turf cutter. We'll go over both methods below.
Moving lists
If you'd simply like to move a list to another day, you have a few options. To get started, click on the Lists button, and navigate to the day where the lists in question are, either Old, Current, or Future lists.
Once you've found your lists, you have two options to move them. You can either check the boxes to the left of their names from the list view above, and click Move selected lists to date..., or you can do it individually from a list's detail page.
In both methods, you'll be given a few ways to move the list.
Move unattempted houses only: this will move just the unknocked doors from this list to another day
Move all unattempted households as well as individuals who have statuses "Not Home" and "Comeback": this will move the knocked doors, in addition to the doors that were marked as not home and come back later. This will give your canvassers another shot at those doors.
Move entire list with current statuses intact: this option will move the entire list, including doors that were knocked and surveys that were completed. When the canvasser logs in, they'll see those already knocked/surveyed doors with their statuses intact, just like they did when they were canvassing on the original day. This allows them to pick up where they left off, or re-attempt a door with a different status if they want to.
Releasing doors
The second option is to release doors back to the turf cutter. This will allow you to include them on future lists for canvassers to attempt. Releasing doors follows a similar process as moving them above. First, either check the boxes next to the list names, or enter the detail view for a single list.
Next, you'll have two ways to release doors:
Release all unknocked: this will send all unknocked doors back to the turf cutter.
Release all unknocked, NH, and CBL: this will also send unknocked doors back to the turf cutter, in addition to doors marked Not Home and Come Back Later by a canvasser.
The doors will immediately be available in the turf cutter.
You can also release doors in bulk from the list view page. At the bottom of the page, you can release all unknocked doors from old, current, and future lists.
