Open Grassroots Unwired app and Log In
Click “New record” and enter all required information
Select “Next”
Select a Frequency, Amount, and click Credit Card
Click Next. The screen will look like this:
On Card reader, press and hold the button until it beeps and lights turn on and flash. (You may have to press and hold twice for it to turn on)
Once the card reader is on, the tablet will search for and find the reader. If there is an extended list of possible devices to pair with because there are other readers powered on around you, you will need to find the model number of the reader you are attempting to pair.
To Find the model number: Flip the reader over, In the area circled below you will find 8 digits that match a string of digits that appear in the pairing dialogue box
Click on that device in the dialogue box and click PAIR
You will see a popup and you’ll hear the reader beep, Click Pair
You will then see a Bluetooth pairing LED dialogue with different colored circles.
Click Confirm
You will be returned to the Pair with devices popup, Click Cancel
Once that is done you will see some text cycled through at the bottom of the screen. Ultimately it will read “Please tap/insert/swipe card” and you will hear a beep. This is how you know the device is paired.
If you do not get this message, click the back arrow on the tablet to return to the Payment screen (Click Yes on the dialogue box that pops up)
Click Next to go forward to the swiper screen again
You should then see the above message and hear the reader beep.
If you are on the swiper screen for an extended period with no activity, you may see a message at the bottom that says, Payment Device Timeouts.
Click the back arrow on the tablet to return to the Payment screen (Click Yes on the dialogue box that pops up)
Click Next to go forward to the swiper screen again
As long as you keep the reader together with the tablet, you will not have to go through this pairing process again. The next time, the tablet will automatically pair with the reader.
