In general you will see an antenna symbol in the top left corner of the tablet when there is data on the tablet that has not been sent to the server. Alternatively, if you hit the sync surveys button on the Grassroots Unwired app login page you may see an un-synced survey count listed. Note: these surveys are safe being stored locally on the tablet temporarily and will not be lost.
1) Connect the tablet Wi-Fi and tap the "sync survey" button on the apps login screen.
2) If connecting to Wi-Fi didn't work, turn off Wi-Fi and update the following settings:
If on an LG or android 10 or below your settings may look like this:
Under Settings, go to Battery > There is a section to add unmonitored apps > Add Grassroots Unwired and RequestPerformerService to the list of unmonitored apps
Additionally in settings under Battery, confirm that Power saving mode is set to OFF (OFF should be a gray box).
If on a Samsung or android 10 or higher the settings may look like this:
Under Settings, got to Device Care > Tap on Battery > Ensure that Power mode is set to Optimized > Next, Tap on App power management > Tap on Apps that won't be put to sleep > Add Grassroots Unwired and RequestPerformerService to the list of Apps that won't be put to sleep
If you are still unable to get surveys to sync, walk through these more in depth settings:
Ensure Data Saver/Power Saving is off:
Settings -> Battery and device care -> power saving -> OFF
Settings -> Connections -> Data Saver -> Set to OFF
App permissions:
Settings -> Applications -> GRU -> permissions and make sure all permissions are allowed, including adding “nearby devices”
Settings -> Applications -> RPS -> permissions and make sure all permissions are allowed, including “files and media”
